My name is Katie, and I paint what I hear. I have a neurodiversity called synesthesia, which is the label used to classify any abnormal blending of the senses. There are many combinations that people experience, but no one ever experiences it in the same way. I have music-color synesthesia, or chromesthesia, meaning that I "see" rivers and waves of color in my mind when I hear music. My paintings are those colors brought into the tangible world, and just like synesthesia itself, no two songs are alike. I find it fun to experiment with different acrylic colors and to try painting songs of various genres.
